Evaluation of the functioning of micro-dams and siting of new dams
CREDO, a Burkina Faso based NGO, implements a four year water program in the South of Burkina Faso.
One of the activities of the programme is the construction of micro-dams to increase the water levels in surrounding wells. In January 2010 CREDO, Woord en Daad and Aqua for All consulted SamSamWater to formulate a methodology to asses existing micro-dams and potential sites for new micro-dams. During a mission to Burkina Faso, the methodology has been used to assess 3 existing micro-dams. Also, 7 potential building sites have been evaluated.
